Prohibited Items on the ILA Grounds

Weapons, weapon-like objects and dangerous items (under the German Weapons Act)

› Firearms: pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns › Firearm components: parts of firearms, excluding telescopic sights › Toy weapons, replicas and imitations of weapons › Air and CO2 weapons: air-powered, spring-powered and CO2-powered weapons › Archery equipment: crossbows and bows (e.g. longbows, recurve bows, compound bows) › Electric shock devices: tasers, stun guns › Striking weapons: baseball bats, blackjacks, knuckle dusters, batons › Any other objects that can be used as weapons or projectiles, including irritant gas and pepper spray

Knives and dangerous tools – General knife ban

A general knife ban applies on the ILA grounds in accordance with Section 42 of the German Weapons Act (WaffG). Carrying knives of any kind is prohibited – regardless of blade length, knife type or opening mechanism. This includes pocket knives and multi-tools with blades. Dangerous tools that can be used as cutting or stabbing weapons (e.g. hatchets, axes, machetes) are likewise prohibited unless expressly authorised or required for professional purposes.

› Exceptions apply exclusively under Section 42 (4a) WaffG and the venue rules, including: carrying by authorised personnel where required for their profession, delivery purposes (No. 1), knives purchased during the event and stored securely out of reach (No. 3), commercial exhibition of knives (No. 5), emergency services (No. 6), photo/film/television productions (No. 7) and designated use in catering areas (No. 9).

Narcotics and drugs (under German narcotics law)

All drugs subject to the German Narcotics Act (BtMG) as well as cannabis and cannabis products under the Cannabis Act (KCanG), unless prescribed for documented medical use. Admission may also be refused to anyone visibly under the influence of alcohol, cannabis or drugs.

Large bags and backpacks

Oversized luggage that may pose a hazard or block escape routes (maximum size: DIN A3)

Flags and flagpoles

Glass containers and cans

Glass bottles, jars, cans that could break and cause injuries

Noise-making devices

Vuvuzelas, megaphones, whistles and similar items that could cause disturbance

Bicycles, scooters, (children's) tricycles and similar vehicles

Vehicles that may pose a hazard or restrict freedom of movement on the grounds

Sticks and poles

Walking sticks (permitted if medically necessary)

Spray paint, lacquers and graffiti markers

Spray paint cans, lacquers, permanent and graffiti markers that could be used for vandalism. Standard sunscreen and personal care products in commercial packaging are not affected.

Professional film and photography equipment

Large cameras, tripods, lighting equipment that could be used for commercial purposes without authorisation. See camera and photography guidelines below for details

Propaganda material

Racist, xenophobic, National Socialist or other criminally prohibited propaganda material, regardless of the medium of distribution or communication

Camera and Photography Guidelines

› Cameras for hobby and semi-professional photography (e.g. DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, including zoom lenses) › The intended use determines what is allowed, not the camera model › Camera bags and photo backpacks up to DIN A3
