ILA Berlin 2020

Since 18 years, the Future Military Pilot Training Conference will be held at ILA Berlin Airshow, with a mix of presenters from Air Force, Army Aviation, Maritime Patrol and Aircraft- & Simulator Industry, reporting live and virtual pilot training & lessons learnt.

With short key notes, European Commission together with the Federal Government of Germany will open ILA Future Lab FORUM, the main stage of #AeroDays2020. European Commission will focus attention on the Green Deal and the objective of a climate-neutral aviation by 2050.

With moderation of European Commission, CTOs of leading aerospace OEMs discuss industry roadmaps and expectations with regard to policy frameworks.

What options does aviation have to become climate-neutral and still meet the growing global demand for air transport services? Which path are aircraft manufacturers and operators taking? What role does politics and research play in this?

Airbus BizLab will present a selected group of startups and intrapreneurs (internal projects) from the corporate acceleration programme that have entered the aerospace industry.

This year, the focus with the "IDL Aviation Talents" is on young innovators form the German research, development and innovation eco-system. The awards go to creative and innovative pupils, students and young professionals who have inspired our jury with their ideas!

Die Digitalisierung der Wertschöpfung beim Flugzeugbau umfasst den gesamten Lebenszyklus, doch besonders der Einzug digitaler Tools bei der Fertigung verändert Arbeitsweisen zunehmend. Bei der digitalen Produktion vernetzen sich Menschen, Maschinen, Anlagen, Logistik und Produkte in Echtzeit miteinander. Die Produktion organisiert sich damit komplett neu – flexibel, effizient und nach individuellen Vorgaben.

Die Voraussetzungen für intelligente Produktionsmechanismen sind Informationstechnologien und neue Möglichkeiten der Datenverarbeitung: mehr Speicherkapazität, höhere Geschwindigkeit, kleinere Baugrößen, bessere Sensorik.

Beim diesjährigen KGAL Aviation Day anlässlich der ILA Berlin steht das Thema „Zukunft“ im Vordergrund.

Aviation continues to be a growing global industry. The digitalization of products and services opens up opportunities to increase efficiency, to maintain very high safety levels and to enhance the competitiveness of companies with innovative solutions.

It's an age-old human dream to be able to fly like a bird. In the slightly more than 100 years of commercial aviation history, the technical innovations of electric flying have brought the desire for democratization of individual aviation mobility within reach for the first time. In our panel we will learn from pioneers and pacemakers of Urban Air Mobility how this new branch of aviation is currently doing and what still needs to be done to achieve a commercial breakthrough.

At the end of the trade visitor part of #AeroDays2020, we take a visionary look at the aviation of the future, out of the box so to speak. Will new technologies in combination with other business models disrupt air traffic? What influence does the offered cruising speed have on the ecological footprint, supply and demand? These and many other questions will be discussed on the basis of exemplary developments.

Berlin is Germany's hot spot for founders and venture capitalists. This is where founders and those who want to become founders find exactly the right environment to implement their business ideas. In this pitching session you will get to know some outstanding start-up companies from Berlin - and perhaps find a future cooperation partner.

In Germany, there are several TechCenters with a strong focus on aviation. Aim of the TechCenters is, to bring partners together and work on the integration and industrialization of innovative aviation technologies. The session will give both and overview of the landscape of German aviation TechCenters as well as an insight into individual centers, e.g. the ZAL in Hamburg.

Berlin has a lot to offer in the space-startup scene. In this session you will meet established and emerging companies and entrepreneurs from the capital region and learn why Berlin has become such an attractive place for the New Space Economy and where the journey is headed.
